Míl, sons of
In Celtic myth the Milesians were reported to have come from the Mediterranean, possibly the Iberian Peninsula, their leader having been described as a king of Spain. When they landed their emissary was killed by the Tuatha Dé Danann, and accordingly a great battle took place at which the Tuatha were defeated. Only the leaders of the Tuatha, however, appear to have fled; the people remained as producers of milk and corn for the Milesians.
